Admission Standards and Application Deadlines

Admission Standards:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or psychology preferred, not required
  • 3.00 cumulative GPA
  • Statement of Purpose of 500-1500 words
  • Resume
  • Three recommendations via the MSU Recommendation Form
  • GRE-General Test. Mminimum total of 286 across the two areas of Verbal and Quantitative
  • Personal interview with the School of Psychology faculty
  • English proficiency for non-Canadian internationals: TOEFL (79), IELTS (6), Duolingo (100), or proof mode of instruction was in English

Admission packet MUST be completed by the deadline to be given admission consideration.

  • Fall intake only
    • Priority Deadline is March 1. Pending available seats, applications may still be considered after March 1. 

 Delivery Mode

  • Courses are delivered in a hybrid-flexible mode with some face-to-face requirements on weekends and during the summer semester.

Admission Standards:

  • Bachelor's degree in education/related area; or present position at education institution; or 2+ years related experience
  • 2.75 cumulative GPA or 3.00 in recent semesters contributing to 60 semester hours
  • Statement of Purpose of 500-1500 words
  • Three recommendations via the MSU Recommendation Form

Admission Standards

  • A Bachelor degree (BS) in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) or successful completion of a Post Baccalaureate program.
  •  A minimum 3.25 grade point average for the last four years or in the last 60 semester hours of study; 
    • for currently enrolled applicants, the current semester grades are needed for admission review so be sure to request your transcript be sent to us AFTER the grades are posted. Example, enrolled for fall 2023, but applying for Fall 2024, request transcript be sent after fall 23 grades are posted.
  • Three letters of recommendation from academic instructors and/or supervisors (two from within the communication disorders major and one external evaluator) who can attest to the individual’s ability to work in teams, diversity experiences, and community service
  • For Statement of Purpose use this prompt: Describe your experiences that align with our program mission
  • Undergraduate Course Audit Worksheet
    • Save the worksheet to your computer, open from saved location, complete, save, and upload in the application where indicated

To receive admission consideration all documents MUST be received by the application deadline. 

Fall Intake Only

  • On-line: The online program is offered part-time and takes eight consecutive online semesters to complete. Admission is in the Fall and your final externship will take place in the seventh and eighth semesters. The second summer semester requires an 8-week on-campus clinical experience.
