Policies for those providing tutoring services
- All tutoring services need to be arranged and processed through the tutoring coordinator.
- Tutoring sessions need to be consistent and scheduled on a weekly basis.
- Tutoring session should take place in a public meeting or study area at a convenient time and place for both parties.
- All documentation of services, such as weekly logs and time cards, must be handed in to the tutor coordinator.
- The tutee should come to every session fully prepared: this includes reading assignments, completed homework and study guides, bringing all needed materials and supplies, etc.
- Tutors are not expected to re-teach the class depending on the tutee’s situation. Rather, tutors are expected to review, clarify and/or reinforce certain aspects of the subject.
- Two missed tutorial sessions must be reported to the tutoring coordinator.
- Tutors are expected to apprise the tutoring coordinator of student progress by making notations on the logs, informally to coordinator, and during evaluation conferences. They should also inform coordinator of any tutor/tutee problems or concerns.
- Tutors are expected to conduct themselves as professionals in respect to confidentiality concerning tutoring services and/or information gained during tutoring sessions.
