Small Grants for Faculty Research

Each year, faculty from a wide range of disciplines apply for funding through Minot State University’s Small Grants program. Each grant application is reviewed by members of the MSU Faculty Research Committee. Committee members use a scoring rubric to rank the applications and use these rankings in making final funding decisions.

Small Grant Awards for 2018-2019 - $17,907

  • Alexey Shipunov - $2,497 for Vascular Flora of Western North Dakota
  • Mark Singer - $2,973 for Medieval Manuscript Research in London, Oxford, and Cambridge, UK
  • Joseph Jastrzemski - $2,197 for Bears Arm. Benson, Mandan. and Beckwith: Collaboration and the Collection of Mandan and Hidatsa Texts    
  • Kathy Hintz & Erik Kana - $1,370 for University & P-12 Education Partnerships: A Pilot Project to Develop a Model Program for Early and Mid-Program Clinicals in Teacher Education
  • Holly Pedersen & Lisa Borden-King - $1,370 for University & P-12 Education Partnerships: A Pilot Project to Develop a Model Program for Early and Mid-Program Clinicals in Teacher Education
  • Christopher Heth - $3,000 for Thiophene-based Ionic Liquids as Precursors for the Production of Conjugated Polymer Films
  • Wenjing Zheng & Holly Pedersen - $2,500 Online Training with Paraprofessionals to Support Students with Disabilities: A Characteristics Approach
  • Ryan Stander - $2,000 Post Digital Printmaking Exploration
