Plant Services

On Campus Deliveries, Mail, and Courier Services

Plant services will be making the scheduled delivery at the time stated below: These schedules will be adhered to as close as possible, but may vary due to other scheduling needs.

  1. Bulk Mail from the MSU post office to department offices will be delivered between the hours of 9:00 am to Noon.
  2. UPS/Central Receiving items will be delivered to department offices between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:30 pm. Plant Service’s personnel will pick up any parcels/packages to be sent via courier services during their regularly scheduled deliveries.
  3. Courier mail services incoming and outgoing will be handled through the Plant Services Department. All courier services will deliver and pickup at Central receiving in the Plant Services Building (Federal Express, Federal Express Ground, Cross Country, Air Borne Express, and UPS). Express courier services require one hour notification for outgoing services. To assure desired delivery date, outgoing packages should be brought over to Plant Services no later than 2:30 pm (UPS, Next Day Air, and Ground by 11:00 am). Plant services receives weekly, and in some circumstances, monthly invoices or statements from companies providing courier services. In all cases a customer copy is retained and this document is used to reconcile accounts payable. In the case where a package is taken directly to the courier company and the university’s account number is used, the customer copy must be sent to Plant Services to assure proper billing procedures. The sender must supply the fund and department number to the Plant Services personnel.
  4. Billing for all outgoing UPS and courier services will be billed directly to the department through inter-departmental billing/journal vouchers. When placing an order or sending an outgoing package give the fund and department number to be charged.
