
Informative mini-sessions scheduled Aug. 20
Convocation activities continue Aug. 20, with a morning of informative mini-sessions. The presentations are being held in Aleshire Theater; coffee and breakfast snacks will be served in the lobby outside the theater, 8-8:15 a.m.
The presentations are "Re-Thinking MSU General Education," by the MSU Gen Ad Hoc Committee, "Retention Management at MSU," by Lynda Bertsch and Debra Chandler from the Office of Career Services and Cari Olson from the Office of Academic and Institutional Projects, "The Beaver Team: Marketing Together," by the MSU Marketing Committee and "Your PLACE at MSU," by Vice President for Academic Affairs Gary Rabe and Department of Mathematics and Computer Science faculty members Cheryl Nilsen and Laurie Geller. The consecutive sessions are scheduled to run through 11:45 a.m.
The "Retention Management at MSU" presentation will discuss the early intervention system and data gathered by the College Student Inventory. PLACE in "Your PLACE at MSU" stands for Purposeful Learning, Achievement and Community Engagement. The presentation will highlight a pilot program of MSU’s First Year Experience Program.
A complete schedule grid was sent to all employees via campus mail. Employees are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible.
