OIT sponsoring the Northern Great Plains Technology Institute
On June 4-5, the Northern Great Plains Technology Institute will offer participants a hands-on experience with classroom and online technologies. This technology institute, which is coordinated by Minot State University’s Office of Instructional Technology, is free to MSU faculty and staff. Individuals not affiliated with the university will be charged $50 to attend.
"The institute is in fulfillment of the mission of the Office of Instructional Technology, which is to support faculty development in online course design and the integration of technology into the classroom with the goal of enhancing student learning," said Mark Timbrook, technology support specialist.
Attendees will gain an understanding of these classroom and online technologies: personal response system interwrite radio frequency clickers, Teamboard operations, Adobe Acrobat Connection Pro, Wimba Podcast and Board tools, Wimba Live, SafeAssign Plagiarism Prevention Tool, Blackboard (basics and advanced), digital voice recording and using voice in PowerPoint.
The Northern Great Plains Institute runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on June 4 and from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 5. The sessions will be in Main 310, 314 and 316. Registration is required. To register, call 858-3832.
The majority of sessions provide an opportunity for hands-on experience. A headset with microphone is required for some sessions. Personal laptops are optional, but a wireless connection is available. Participants who complete the sessions will receive training certificates.
