Futurepalooza makes a big decision easier for high school students

Futurepalooza has been canceled due to the weather.

An event unique to the state will bring career professionals and post-secondary schools together to show what options the future could hold for high school students and their parents.

Minot State University is holding a first-time event, called Futurepalooza, on March 24th at the MSU Dome. Exciting presentations and informational booths will be open to the public from 9 a.m. till 3:30 p.m., and then from 6 till 9 p.m.

"Futurepalooza could be one of the most important events students will attend this year," said Kevin Harmon, Minot State University dean of admissions. "We have a wide variety of career opportunities covered with expert speakers and every higher education institution in North Dakota in the same place, at the same time!"

Information related to more than a dozen different career categories will be given by professionals currently working in the field. The presenters will be from such businesses as the State’s Attorney Office, the City of Minot, Trinity Health, SRT, Bishop Ryan High School, the Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau and others.

Also making presentations at the event are post-secondary schools from across the region. These include sixteen colleges or universities from within North Dakota and eleven from either Minnesota or South Dakota. Many of the post-secondary schools will make their presentations in the late morning, afternoon and evening.

Futurepalooza is free and open to students, parents and community members.
