2008 Miss Norsk Hostfest is an MSU Student!

Despite a busy university schedule, Amanda Fimreite still has time to be a part of this year’s royalty at the Norsk Hostfest. During an average week, Fimreite, a Minot native, is a sophomore, music major at Minot State University, but during the 2008 Hostfest she was crowned Miss Norsk Hostfest. The Hostfest is an annual event at the State Fair Center in Minot, and is the largest Scandinavian Festival in North America. Fimreite says she, and six other candidates from all over the region, went through an interview process in the weeks leading up to the Hostfest before she found out her role as royalty. Fimreite will spend much of her time at the Hostfest greeting guests as well as being part of the daily Parade of Flags. In talking about her decision to attend school at Minot State, Fimreite says Minot State faculty is the “cream of the crop” in the state. Since she wants to become a music educator, this was the best place to get her own education. Congratulations Amanda on being 2008 Miss Norsk Hostfest!
