2008 Rules and Information
Schools may send up to three teams of six students each to each meet. To be eligible for team awards, a team may have at most three members from the upper grade level of each event. If a small school doesn’t have at least three students at the lower grade level, the team may be completed by including students from an even lower grade level. If a team does not satisfy these requirements, the team members may still compete for individual awards, but the team will not be elligible for any team award.
Each team member will write four individual mathematics events according to the schedule below. Then the entire team will compete on a team event. The events marked with * do not allow the use of a calculator. Students may use either a scientific or graphing calculator on the remaining events. A symbolic manipulator, such as a TI-89 or TI-92 calculator, will not be allowed on any event.

For each event, awards will be presented to the top inviduals and teams in both the Class A and Class B competitions. Each meet participant will receive a participation certificate. To help cover the costs involved, there will be an entry fee of $14.00 per team. The fee for seating alternates is $7.00 per meet. A school may bring no more than 3 alternates to any one meet. If a meet must be cancelled because of weather, refunds will not be possible. At the conclusion of each meet, the exam, solutions and award lists will be posted on this Web site.
Should a meet have to be cancelled because of weather, that decision will be emailed to all registered coaches and posted on this Web site by 8:00 am central time on the day of the meet. The exams will then be posted that morning on this Web site so that teachers may use the exams in whatever manner they choose.
Letters of invitation are being mailed to schools by the end of January. If you do not receive a letter but wish to participate, please email Rosie Winczewski at rosie.winczewski@minotstateu.edu.
