Leadership Opportunities

Residence Life offers a variety of leadership and employment opportunities to students living on campus. Find your voice and represent your peers on the student-led Residence Hall Association or join our Residence Life staff and build your career, social, and leadership skills.

The purpose of the Residence Hall Association (RHA) is to unify all residence halls and provide an inclusive environment through engagement and leadership opportunities for students living on campus. RHA consists of five executive board members and two building representatives per hall. To get involved, stop by the Residence Life office or call 701-858-3363.

 RHA Constitution and By-Laws

Our Residence Life staff consists of resident assistants, residence hall directors, and resident managers; all who live on campus. These positions require dedication to ensure all students living on campus have the most positive living and learning experience possible. Hiring for these positions takes place in the spring semester for the following academic year.

Resident Manager (RM)

The resident manager is responsible for overseeing our three campus apartments. The RM addresses resident concerns in a timely manner, coordinates apartment check-ins and check-outs, acts as a liaison between the apartments and the Residence Life Leadership Opportunities office, and positively upholds the policies of Minot State University.

Residence Hall Director (RHD)

RHDs are responsible for overseeing their residence hall. This includes supervising resident assistants, creating community programs, providing referrals and advice for students, coordinating student check-in and check-out paperwork with the Residence Life office, attending Residence Life staff meetings, and supporting and upholding the policies of Minot State. These positions are extremely multifaceted and rewarding. No two days are ever the same!

Resident Assistant (RA)

RAs develop community on their floor and building. This includes providing a variety of programming, being a campus resource for residents, enforcing the policies of Minot State, assisting with student check-in and check-outs, as well as working as a team with other Residence Life staff to provide a safe and inclusive environment. These positions are demanding of your time and talent and can be very gratifying as well as being an excellent resume builder.
