
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's mission is to help young people of exceptional promise reach their full potential through education. Through the Graduate Scholarship Program, the Foundation identifies and supports high-achieving students who will begin their first graduate or professional degrees in fall 2007.
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship Program will award approximately 30 scholarships to seniors and recent graduates planning to attend graduate school for the first time starting fall 2007
Award
Each award covers a portion of educational expenses, including tuition, living expenses, required fees, and books for the graduate degree chosen. The amount and duration of awards vary by student based on the cost of attendance and the length of the graduate program as well as other scholarships or grants received. The maximum available per student per year of study is $50,000 and the maximum length is six years.
Getting Nominated
Students interested in this scholarship must be nominated by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Faculty Representative from Minot State University, Dr. Linda Cresap, Dean of the Graduate School and Research/Sponsored Programs.
Minimum Qualifications
You must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements to be considered for nomination by MSU for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship Program.

At a minimum, to be eligible, candidates must
- Be a senior or a recent graduate (since May 2002) of an accredited US college or university.
- Have a bachelor's degree by the start of the fall 2007 semester.
- Have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
- Be nominated by his or her undergraduate institution.
- Have unmet financial need.
- Not previously have been nominated for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation graduate scholarship.
- Plan to attend a full-time graduate or professional degree program at an accredited university in fall 2007. This must be the first graduate degree the candidate has ever pursued.
Application Guidelines and Materials
Please review and complete the application and recommendation forms listed. The Art Portfolio is required of students in Arts (performance and studio), architecture and environmental design, and radio, television, and film. All Materials must be submitted to Dr. Linda Cresap, Graduate School, by February 1, 2007. A campus committee will review and select two candidates to be submitted as MSU's official nominations. These nominations will be submitted by the Graduate School to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation by March 15, 2007.
