Mission
We are a student-run organization for biology majors, pre-professional majors, and students with an interest in biology. Our purpose is to enhance the opportunities available to those with interests similar to our own. We take field trips, participate in conventions, develop awareness of science in our community through outreach programs, and basically have lots of fun!
History
The MSU Club Biology was established by Professor Emeritus Om Madhok in 1996. One goal of the club is to encourage closer professional relationships between students and faculty in order to facilitate interest in undergraduate research. The existence of the club also provides a forum for recognizing and awarding academic excellence among the biology students. Furthermore, the Biology Club engages in a variety of service activities within the community such as science fair judging and participation in Science Olympiad.
Phi Sigma
Phi Sigma is a national society that was founded in March 1915 at Ohio State University to promote academic achievement and research in the biological sciences. There are currently 41 active chapters with approximately 45,000 members. Minot State University installed the Gamma Xi Chapter of Sigma Xi in December of 1999.

Outreach Programs
Biology Club works with area elementary teachers to set up information demonstration that complement the current curriculum.

Past years' demonstrations have included:
Glow Germ Club members demonstrated the importance of proper hand washing.
Chemistry Color Changes Club members demonstrated how different chemicals produce different colors.
Cool Anatomy Students got to feel what the brain, heart, and eyes feel like. Human skeletons were also introduced.
Paleontology Discovery Students participated in a skull and fossil contest with cool prizes.
Animal Zone Students were presented with live animals, including a ball python, tiger salamanders, and box turtles.
Botany at its Best Students viewed several plants & discussed their similarities and differences.
Microorganism Madness Students viewed microorganisms under the microscope.
