Incoming Freshman Art Scholarship

Incoming Freshman Scholarship is available to any high school senior who declares a major in art at Minot State University. The scholarship will be determined by a spring semester competition to which the student will be invited to submit portfolios. Deadline is January 15, for consideration of the following school year.

We encourage students of any gender, sexual orientation, race, color and national or ethnic origin to apply. Students can apply for the scholarship by completing the 250 word essay and presenting a portfolio. Be sure to include the following information with your submission: name, school, contact information and degree track that you are applying for.

  1. write a 250 word essay addressing a past, present and future commitment to being an artist. Please e-mail or send the essay to the contact below no later than January 15.
     
  2. e-mail 10 works of art (JPEG format) to the designated e-mail contact; please accompany images with an e-mail stating titles, dimensions, media and general description. OR send ten 35mm slides of works of art to the designated contact address; please accompany slides with titles, dimensions, media and general description. Send materials or schedule a visit no later than January 15.

Harvey and Arlone Twyman Scholarship:

The Twyman Scholarship is available to any art major at Minot State University. The scholarship will be determined by faculty nominations each spring and available to students who have completed eight credits of art course work and have a 3.25 GPA in art.
